About Medication Assistance Association

Medication Assistance Association is a not-for profit organisation that aims to provide financial assistance to give patients affordable access to their medications. The Association has a strong focus in supporting patients with chronic illnesses who are disadvantaged, disabled, elderly & from culturally and language diverse backgrounds. By working together, The Association aims to improve the overall health of the community, creating continuous change with long-lasting positive results.

Funding

The Association operates by receiving funds from government, non-government & private donations. There is a myriad of government grants & social funding programs that fund health improvement activities & services for communities across Australia. The Association has significant expertise in this area & looks forward to ensuring more funding is provided to the communities in need. For information about available funding sources visit: The Grants Hub at http://www.thegrantshub.com.au

In the initial stages, the funding for our programs are only possible through the generosity & charity of private donors from a wide cross section of the community.

Many of these individuals & business have been financially successful & would like to give back to their local community in a direct & practical manner. Many donors understand and share the same vision and thus support the Association financially to allow it to carry out it work.

Service Delivery Model

The Association does not deliver services directly to individuals. It achieves the program aim by working with local health professionals who are treating patients at the grassroots level. We provide funding subsidies on the advice & discretion of the clinicians caring for the patient. We aim to partner with local health businesses who share the passion and vision of the Association to improve the short term & long term health outcomes of the community. Funds are never paid directly to patients, but to health providers along the health care continuum that provide services to patients at the request of their GP.
